MD Public Girls Basketball "Week 6" Top 15 Rankings, Key Games & Recap

Recap of last week’s MPSSA Girls Public High School Basketball.

The first week of basketball for 2025 was abbreviated because of the recent snowstorms. In the short week Maret beat Flowers and South River won big at home against Annapolis. This Friday we have #1 ranked Bethesda hosting #10 ranked Churchill, both teams are undefeated. The defending 4A champions Clarksburg visits #3 ranked Seneca Valley and the reigning 2A Champs Hammond visits #15 ranked River Hill. We missed some key matchups last week and this week and are awaiting the rescheduled dates. Those keys games were #13 Poly at Edmondson, #4 Oakdale vs #7 Frederick, and Whitman vs #10 Churchill. This weekend some of our top Public Schools will play Private schools from all around the DMV in the “695 Hoops Public vs Private Challenge” Saturday January 11th, 2025, at McDonough Private School in Owings Mills. Please make sure you come out to support our student athletes.
