MD Public Girls Basketball "Week 7" Top 15 Rankings, Key Games & Recap

Recap of last week’s MPSSA Girls Public High School Basketball.

Parity, the quality, or state of being equal or equivalent. This is what we have this year amongst the landscape of Public-School girls basketball. This is a wonderful thing as we grow the game of Girls basketball. Last week Urbana beat Frederick, River Hill beat the defending state 2A champion Hammond, the 4A defending champion Clarksburg beat Seneca, and Top Ranked Bethesda remains undefeated after beating Churchill. This week we welcome Milford Mill to the Top 15 rankings. Public vs Private was a fun time to catch some good basketball, and network with other coaches and players. The private schools won more games, but the public schools played hard and will be back next year. We are deep into conference games now and the Western vs Forest Park game this week could determine the City Championship participant vs Poly later this season. Walter Johnson vs Churchill will be a big matchup in Montgomery County this week. Playing a tough out of conference schedule is starting to pay off for a lot of teams as we have seen their improvement.
