MD Public Girls Basketball "Week 9" Top 15 Rankings, Key Games & Recap

Recap of last week’s MPSSA Girls Public High School Basketball.

Welcome to week 9. All year long I have openly stated that the 4A region is extremely loaded this year. This was shown this past week. The rematch of the 4A state championship game last year was a classic. Clarksburg, our reigning 4A champion, did it again as they beat Bethesda by 6. North Point from Charles County came up and beat Roland Park. CH Flowers dismantled Rosedale Christian by 16 then beat Parkdale yesterday by 35 to secure first place in PG County. Western another 4A school beat Banneker in the DC-Baltimore Challenge. Linganore beat Frederick by 15, Annapolis beat Broadneck, and Whitman beat Churchill by 17. Forest Park beat Edmonson in a crucial conference matchup but later lost to Eastern (DC). River Hill lost to Washington (WVA). We have some big conference matchups this week. Towson travels to Milford. Leonardtown and North Point battle for first place in Southern Maryland and Reservoir plays River Hill in a critical Howard County matchup.
