Week 4 "Top 15" (Ending 12/30) “MD Public Girls Basketball

"Freshman Holiday Impact Edition"

Disclaimer: This will be my second year covering high school girls’ basketball. I am not affiliated with an organization, and I am not paid to do this. I do partner with 695 Hoops and the Central Maryland Basketball Coaches Association on certain events and publications. My mission is to give a platform to female student athletes across the state of Maryland. As an educator in this state, I have had the opportunity to network with fellow coaches, athletic directors, and school leaders to make my mission possible. Let’s have a great 2023-2024 season.

Week 4 (Ending December 30th) “Maryland Public School Girls Basketball”

Happy Holidays to everyone. Hopefully, you were able to spend quality time with family, friends, and your teams. Let’s recap week 3. Newly ranked (last week rankings) Damascus lost big to Clarksburg. Poly beat Forest Park in an epic Baltimore City battle. Many of the “Top 15” teams will be playing in the “695 Hoops Holiday Tournament”. Some will be playing in out-of-state tournaments. We have some potential Top 10 matchups this week if certain teams make it to the championship round of their perspective tournaments. Good luck and Safe travels to everyone. Let us welcome Clarksburg to the Top 15.

Every week I will give you the must-see games of the week and the updated top 15. All throughout the season I will be heading out to cover the games to watch. My plan is to hit every district in the state. When updating our weekly rankings, we take into consideration the “eye test” and strength of schedule. We try to be as accurate as possible, so we encourage teams to please submit your game scores to MaxPreps, scorebooklive.com, twitter, teams IG page or on your school’s athletic page.
