Week of January 30th, 2023 - Maryland Public School Girls Basketball – Weekly Rankings

This is the week we have been waiting for. Time to separate the contenders who play tough schedules from the teams who play cupcake out of district schedules, and haven’t been challenged all year. Even the district games this week are top tier and could decide who plays in some county or city championship games. This is the week to get out and support our student athletes. In addition, This Saturday we have the Battle of Baltimore. I can assure you that we will have some shake-ups to these rankings next week. Last week the legendary Pikesville coach Michael Dukes notched his 100th win, Parkdale dropped a game against North Point from Charles County, and New Town was dominated by Roland Park. Bethesda Chevy Chase enters the Top 15 with their dominating win against last years’ state finalist Clarksburg. Over the last few weeks, I have had the chance to travel across the state. Based off the “Eye test”, strength of schedule, quality wins against tough opponents, and overall record is what these weekly rankings are based off.
